Well as the title suggests (heee...) Mummy here is feeling guilty (actually our trips, activities, parties had already been uploaded to our FB.. excuses? hee) & decided to do this.. a re-cap of our 2011! This is part 1 i.e. first 6mths in 2011..hope I won't take another year to cough out our Jun-Dec 2011 ^^

2011 HKG TRIP

Yes, it was darling's 2nd time to HKG. First time was with GongGong and PoPo when darling was still mini sized so we skipped the kiddos's places back then. For our 2011 trip, we included Disney!

We made a date to DIY our kite and go picnic with darling's BFF, Nicole ^^ but weather was bad up till an hour before our outing, hence Nicole din join us. We went ahead with GongGong PoPo and xiaoyi thou.. heee .. our kite never really made it into the skies =P (here)

Earth Hour 2011
We attended the 1 hour walk organised by WWF in March.
Looking back at the fotos, I'm wondering why did darling put on her cap for a walk in the evening...hmmmm ..

Dayi was very very much involved in this and we showed our support in various ways. On the results announcement day.. this is what we did:
DIY a choc cake with hammer jelly for ah yeeeeee.. not presentable but edible =P

Turning up and staying till 4 am .. the crowds on the street after the party was HAVOC! Like soccer match, Liverpool WON against MU .. (haaa)

Darling turned 3. WOW time really FLIES. Mummy has been lazy the past year being MIA most of the time from our blog. But still will try and sneak in our precious memories here as much as possible going forward ^^

The past year darling has grown from crying every morning when we send her to cc to performing on the big stage last sat. Mummy is sooooo proud of u *mucks*. Wonder what BD wish darling made... heee... probably more reading, more art and craft, less milk .. \\(^o^)//

This year we din have a big, elaborate BD party. Just a lunch with our families. On the 5th we were @ Copthorne Orchid hotel for a buffet lunch.

Today's the day that parents of K2-ers from SchoolHse were waiting for. Its oso the day mummy is looking forward to coz all teachers in sch (both form teachers as well as non-form teachers) has been telling mummy that darling is doing wonderful for the performance and they are confident of her performance =P

Sentosa 17 Oct (part 1)

Mummy promised darling a trip to the beach for sandplay ... So well on this wet, humid and hot sunday morning ... we embarked on our day on the island "Sentosa"

We arranged to meet up with gugu and her 2 princesses @ 830. Wanted to be there as early as possible so that we wont have to play under the hot noon sun. But when we woke up in the morning, what greeted us was the dark gloomy clouds and also the sounds of thunder. Mummy woke my drowsy princess up cleaned her up abit and off we go!
heee... our family outing out-fit ;) Cant see darling's eyes!

Nothing to do on the MRT so we took out our camera. Heeeee... darling took after mummy's habit, taking foto of feet!

Some dresses we tried @ KP recently for ah yi's wedding in Dec. The one that we tried a month ago... out of stock already =( These are just not perfect...... we popped by Mini Princess the other day .. noting that caught our eyes too =(

And last Friday mummy was on leave and we stayed home the whole day (mummy dotter bonding) Mummy took out our wedding fotos and video for darling to watch, wanted to give her an idea of what's a Flower Girl's duties ..
@ the end of the video darling says "i want to hold hands with biao ge (aka daddy's nephew) and be the flower girl and flwoer boy tgr" --- well, biao ge and biao jie were our little flower boy & girl back then. BUT they are now 13 and 12 yrs old, too old to be flower boy/girl AND they are daddy's nephew/niece, wont b @ ah yi's wedding!

The one that caught our eye .. well daddy still have yet to send us the video clipping of darling dancing in this dress .. Give him another 100 years and he will still not send it to us

GOSH time FLIES! Shirui is turning 3 years soon (actually another 3 months to go). She has started going to cc back in Aug and she took a month to settle in cc (i.e. stop crying), phew!

Mummy has uploaded pictures of the Childcare Center's update of darling's Aug 2010progress on our FB. And we cant post July progress .. booo... b'coz our camera was pick-pocketed when we were in KL in August and the July progress report fotos were in there =(

19June2010, Saturday.. SLIMZ family outing "A D@y @ the Z00"

Heee... mummy is an ORANJE fan. The ORANJE team were to play Japan on 19th evening and we showed our support, doning our orange jersey for our family trip =D

This is our 2nd time to the zoo (only?). This time we aim to visit those animals which we missed on our first trip, esp Elley! Sharing some fotos taken ...

Saw a new bird that mummy learnt today - looks like an EMU but its not, its called CASSORWARY

Its Bananas time! We fed the elephants @ $5/basket of food which includes carrots, bananas and an apple

Family Foto time.. the Mahout (a man who rides an elephant) took the initiative, asked us if we wanna take a pict tgr. Aft the shot he said "Holland GO GO GO" .. heee.. i suspect he offered his foto-taking services b'coz we r ALL ORANJE

Next is the Dora show.. such a disappointment! (dissapointment#1) We were there aft the 1st show ended. Saw the Q to take pict wif Dora and darling was so excited. So we joined the Q but the usher came and ask us for some ticket and we realised that b4 the show started, the MC gave out foto-taking Q tickets. Hence we told darling we wil come back for the next show in 3hrs time. Meanwhile we went for lunch etc..
We came back (45mins) before the 2nd Dora show. When the show started, the MC says dey will b giving out the tickets. BUT BUT BUT not enuf for everyone (expected) and the tix are going to be given out in the form of Q&A. So she asked this veri simple Qn "what animals are there @ the SG Zoo?" and the MC selected random kids to answer and these kids get the foto-taking tix. Well, we din get any and hence no fotos (dissapointment #2)
(disappointment #3) The Dora show was only Dora n her cousin Diego coming out, saying HI and did one song/dance and its THE END! so SHORT! ...

Darling appeared pretty disappointed @ Dora's show hence mummy told darling how abt mummy get her a Dora book in place of the foto and we went to the gift shop. Darling din wan anything from there! hmmm.. there were a few times when mummy asked darling if she wants anything during our zoo trip (like @ the drinks stall and ice-cream) but she alwys said no... even @ the gift shop as mentioned above.. weird .. But mummy really wanted to get darling something ..

Darling got fascinated with Kanga @ the Gift shop and hee.. took a pict with it. Mummy kept asking darling if she wans the toy but she din wan... well..

We missed the feeding time again this trip and had to resort to picking up food that other kids dropped from their feeding bucket (soooo pooor tingggggyy).. mabbe next time we bring our own carrots?

While feeding the goats, we spotted a really small baby goat (a Kid). It was running towards a female goat and wanted to suckle for milk. But I tink it got the wrong mummy coz the mummy goat "bleh" very loudly @ the little one and it ran away! Shortly we saw the Kid (finally found its mummy) settled below a mummy goat and started suckling for milk. hee.. the girls nearby were commenting "wow! that must hurt, its pulling real HARD!"

We then proceeded to the Animals show. It was a show put up by a group of young performers. It started with an origrami session, making dog/cat and bird. After that the real animals came on... its a show mainly performed by dogs. There were some cats and little mice too..

With *breaking bones* we headed back to popo's house for dinner and mummy wanted to catch our Oranje Men's match with the Samurai.. YEAH YEAH .. won won won (thou no Total Football, but, perhaps this is the way to break the curse? well, to accompany Gong gong watch the match. In the past when we were young, gongong alwys get to watch matches with us ... but now we r married and moved out..... well its good to watch tgr =D hmmm...hee....and darling is not a football fanatic yet and hence daddy had to bring darling ard the estate for a walk while mummy finish the match =P

Lastly... to daddy.. tankoooooo for spending the whole day with us (no disturbing calls frm office).. |-|@ppy f@ther5' day!

We went for GUG class yesterday and as usual took the train (North East Line). Darling was seated in her stroller yet there was a kind uncle who offered mummy a seat too (THANKOO). There are still some nice souls out there ^^ hee but mummy was so paiseh to accept the seat .. kekkkeeee

While seated, mummy interacted with darling to keep her company (as usual) and when we were at the boon keng station, darling surprised mummy.. mummy made darling repeat (haa.. to capture on video) the 'surprise' .. hee...

ya ya .. due to the hectic schedule aft darling's tai ma passed away, forgetful mommy din have the time and energy to make a trip to the library to return darling's books. Thot i went online to do renewal for the booksm but somehow missed out on one book =P

So darling received her first letter from NLB, slapping her with a fine of $1.50

Finally everyone is here and we got to the cinema after our lunch. Its darling's 2nd movie in 2 weeks. Darling did well in the cinema. Watched thru the first one hour..hee... well mummy bot a cup of steamed corn to 'stuff' darling's mouth. The oni time darling created a stir was when she purposefully called out "po po" loudly .. HAAA .. Aft an hour darling knocked out in mummy's arms and slept all the way till the end of the show. Lucky we din pay for her tickets =P

Aft the movie, daddy had to go back to work and we headed for (2)MBS. Mummy heard gong2 mentioning abt gg there and hence suggested we pop by n take a look. We took the new Circle Line. When we were there, it took abt 1/2 hour for us to conquer that Heliz Bridge! HAAA.. coz we walked, stoppped, danced, took fotos, looked @ the paintings, the sky, the merlion, the big big wheel etc...

The shops were hardly opened and we din bother to visit the casino coz there were ushers @ the lobby, segregating visitors (based on nationality) and with guards @ the lobby.. somehow makes the whole visit very restrictive, like going visit someone in the jail.......

After MBS we hopped on one of the buses and were @ Marina Sq for dinner. We passed by a Fish Spa Outlet and decided to all go in for a try. hee... $10/10mins.. All except darling. Darling was sooooooooo scared and worried when she saw those black tiny fishes crowding ard everyone's legs and said "fishes go away, dun bite mummy leg" .. muck muckz .. silly darling ..

Its dinner @ SAKE for sushi and after which we all went home with a full full stomach =D

Darling suffered a bad bad fall a week ago... thanks to daddy... haizzzzzzz

We went for dim sum @ this nice place in Raffles Hotel. Darling who was dressed in her whilte princess dress said "this is a castle and Shirui is the princess, going into the castle" after she saw the nostalgic architecture of the hotel ^^
We went there after GUG class and guess darling was hungry. After the waittress took our orders and walked away, darling did something which entertained us =D Darling raised one of her hands, waved at one of the waitresses and said "jie jie, may I have some food pls?" HAAA... guess darling was really REALLY hungry =)

1st May aka Labour Day
Its a day off we dont hafta work for our bosses...but its not true for parents! hee... coz "parenting" is a 24/7, no annual leave, no MC, no CPF job!

Well, we spent our labour day being, labouring for Darling..

In the morning, mummy woke up early (hee... 5am to be exact) to cook rice for sushi making. URGH! forgot to take fotos of sr's bento set and mummy's sushi..darling took part in rolling one sushi roll .. haa.. and choosing the ingredients she wanna ve in that roll =D

After our sushi session we got ready to head off to aunty liwen's place for a dip in the pool =D haa.. at jurong point which is ..hmmm.. 1hr away from our hse .. =P We were early and hence went for some finger food b4 heading for the pool at 3. It was terribly hot and sunny... =( misses ah yi's pool with no sun, prepetually under the shade 24/7..

Aunty lala and family were there with Ke En (mei mei) too =D

Ke En wasn't too used to it.. first timer mah =D .. and hmm.. heard that uncle gave her some pool water which was why she din like her 1st big pool outing.. haizz.. daddies are all alike..

We went for GUG class as usual and on our way back... its the circle line! its opened for a day's trial run.. haa.. and so we hopped on the train @ Esplande, got off @ Dhoby Ghaut and changed to the NS line for AMK .. saving on the walk from Suntec to City Hall .. hee.. lazybones!

Mummy made darling her MOOOO moo cow bread for tea break at GUG class. Ingredients used:
2 pcs of Bread
2 pcs of Ham
1 pc of Cheese
Rasins, pine nuts, seaweed, strawberry jam
A pair of Scissors, tweezers and bear cookie cutters (2 sizes)

Hee, when darling took out her COW in class, Teacher wei commented "wow mummy, i would rather sleep in with the time.." .. Li lao shi on the other hand kept asking mummy many questions and commented that she wanna try making too!

Daddy set off for T&T last nite.. Darling n mummy went to send daddy off at T3.

What happen:
On our way there, mummy kept preparing darling for daddy's departure .. telling her "sr, daddy is going to sit on the aeroplane, fly fly fly away to a far off place/t&t to work.. Will be back in 2 weeks time. Tonite mummy n sr go home on our own, no daddy.. … daddy will call sr on the telephone to talk to sr .. Ok?"
We could see darling's facial expression changing everytime we brought this up .. And when its really time for daddy to board, (he was carrying her) .. darling held on to daddy .. Saying "daddy dun wan sit aeroplane ok? Daddy go home together with sr and mummy.." and for the first time in darling's life (haa..coz darling has alwys been more glued to mummy..) She says she dun wan mummy .. Haaa…. So we suggested, how abt mummy go home, sr n daddy sit aeroplane .. "ok" was the reply! .. Haaa .. Aft 10mins think darling registered the fact and said "we dun wan daddy, daddy so notti ok? daddy sit aeroplane go work .. " and wanted me to carry .. Haaaa
And when daddy went in, darling said to mummy "daddy "ring ring" talk to sr on the telephone ok?" .. Haa.. She rems this part abt him calling home …
(daddy pls rem to call home ok.. if u'r reading this..)

Next morning darling woke up .. First ting she said/ask was "mummy, where is daddy?" .. The last time daddy went overseas darling was totally immuned to his absence .. But this time darling has matured! Understanding the concept of working overseas more ..

When mummy left her at popo's house, poor darling cried badly .. Mite b tinking mummy wont b coming back for her too ... just like daddy!

The past years we have always been visiting relatives tgr with ah ma and ah gong on the 2nd day. Somehow daddy wanted to rest this yr and we din 'tag' along for relatives' hse visiting. Instead we went to mummy's da po's hse .. its @ jurong?! Well we went popo's for lunch first and met uncle sam there.

CNY house visiting is totally a nitemare esp with such terrible weather! Mummy was already sweating n in terrible mood by the time we left the house. It was a long wait of 30mins for a cab (even the call lines were fully engaged).

First stop was old ah ma's house @ amk after which is mummy's da gu and er gu's place. Lastly we went to ah ma's also @ amk for a late lunch. In the evening we went to popo's for dinner. Darling took a short nap @ popo's and refused to wake up =P

Reunion Dinner (S)

This year's CNY Eve falls on Saturday. Ah ma needs to pray pray hence reunion dinner will ALWAYS be eaten on eve (nite) itself for daddy's side. Mummy's side, well coz xiao yi has jux started work (London shift and cant apply leave), we have no choice but oso to eat on eve (noon).. Can hardly eat much @ ah ma's aft the hearty steamboat @ popo's!

Gong xi Gong xi!

We went to Bishan b4 CNY to enjoy the CNY crowd. But alas! there were many empty stalls =( basically, nothing to c ... but mummy still ended up buying a dress for darling. The stall was run by a mummy with her little girl (who looks ultra hot n dehydrated under the hot stuff tentage). Its a mothercare dress which is too big for darling now ..

Although it wasn't happening .. haa.. we went there twice (for the children's carnival). Our first visit was in the noon and the oni kids play ava was the sheltered bouncing castle. Darling went on it and somehow was frightened to b there on her own, kept insisting mummy join her!? After a while darling warmed up and was more able to play on her own but was still reluctant to venture 'deeper' into the castle, playing along the sides nearer to mummy..

4 Jan .. darling's first day in school .. pre-nursery/playgroup school. Daddy and mummy searched high and low for a sch which is convenient for popo (who will be fetching darling to and fro..) and at the same time good. In the end we chose this sch which is at popo's block, solely for convenience sake. We will monitor and if needed, move darling to another school (prob with sch buz service)

We were supposed to go Msia (JB) today .. spend time with Aunty TSY and YF jiejie. But due to the lack of activities (in JB), only shop n eat, we decided to give it (JB) a miss.. Sorry Aunty TSY for the last minute backout.
Instead mummy and darling got down to doing sushi rolls for our pinic at the park =D

Last day of 2009

Mummy was on leave the whole day and hence darling din go to popo's hse as usual. Instead darling stayed with mummy and we met daddy for lunch @ Vivo. While waiting for daddy, darling was kept entertained with the kiddy rides. There were many rides which interest darling... Firstly, the horses.. its darling's first time 'riding on a horse' and she is really happy!

Next is the purple dino .. Lastly, the blue train "Thomas" Darling took some pictures with Minnie's standboard too: A bobo for Minnie:
We went home in the evening for darling to bathe and have dinner... mummy steamed fish with broc, carrots, tomatoes for darling to eat with rice... Perhaps its yummy, coz darling finished 1 bowl of rice =P

We left house at 9pm again .. (that late?!).. ya, coz we were heading to our 2nd countdown with darling. Rem last year there was a countdown at our estate but darling fell asleep b4 MN .. heeee.. This yr's countdown is at a nearby estate, with fireworks being the biggest reason why we are forgoing darling's sleeptime =P

It wasn't a very fantastic party with a few carnival stalls, drawing contest, dance and sing performances by the youth in the estate. Gong gong came to join us. He was at another party which was at the opposite field, separated by an expressway. It seems that party was more happening coz we can see alot of sparks, disco lights etc from our side.. hmmm ... we shall go that side next year =P

An hour past and the prog got 'hotter' heeeee... there was disco dancing opened to the floor.. haa.. and ya, our little dancing Queen was immediately awaken from her daze (was dazing due to the lack of entertaining prog!)

Today is Xmas and oso our first trip (with darling) to the Zoo .. and 'we are going to the zoo zoo zoo. How abt u u u? U can come too too too.. we'r going to the zoo zoo zoooooooooo!"

Darling woke up at 8plus to 9 and we set off for the zoo aft darling's breakfast (milk n cake) & bath. We took a cab there and were at the zoo ard 10? We took the Fast lane to get the tickets ("cash payment for zoo tix only"). Its $18 per adult, darling is free .. (duno wat's the mini age .. hmm .. anyway the staff din ask abt darling's age)

Aft the wet prog mummy brot darling for cleaning up and we went to one of the sheltered pavilion to have lunch. A packet of strawberry milk, bread + luncheon meat and baked beans .. (for baby.. daddy din wan to eat.. on diet?)

Darling fell asleep at 3plus, after we visited rhiono, giraffe, zebra, and ostrich.. hence daddy n mummy decided to leave for the day..

To satisfy daddy's craving for KFC, we went into the KFC outlet. Once in there, darling woke up coz mummy placed the towel over darling's exposed thighs (very cold in the KFC).

12Dec09: Mummy went for a wedding dinner at Shang but daddy couldn't commit due to his flying schedules which did not crystalise even until now (as usual...).

19 Dec .. a busy weekend (as usual) ..
We went to snow city followed by Sci Center.. hmmm we're not gg to snow city again le.. ex with nothing to play (lucky we only got ourselves tickets for an hour instead of 2hrs!). And the worst part is we cant bring cam into the premises, all fotos inside are taken by the staff using their cam and of course it means we hafta BUY those fotos at xtra costs..

Mummy was helping darling put on the winter clothes and darling kept complaining .. haa "mummy, dont want wear, very hot.. .." HAAA .. but as soon as we stepped into the icy cold chamber, her complains stopped =D The only thing darling could rem was a kor kor who ran, slipped and knocked into the penguins family, broking the papa penguin's feet! haa.. mabbe coz of this darling was unwilling to walk on her own..
The only thing fun in there was the ice slope slide which daddy carried baby for once (mummy went alone) and that's all.. darling din wan a 2nd time

21st Nov - Sling's wedding

Darling went for (her hmmm... at least 10th wedding dinner since birth?) aunty sling's wedding at Orchard Hotel. Today's dress code "Korean Hanbok" =D When we got there mummy recall that one of the guests is a korean (Uni jie jie...) vaguely remember us taking a photo of the real korean and the pirated korean.. but cant seems to locate it =(

Today is darling's first BD celeb this year..haaa.. she's going to celeb twice this year =D

We met up with fellow SMH Dec'07 babies/mummies and daddies for a MASS BD Bash @ Mac. It was quite a last minute decision to have the bash and so we couldn't really get a better location. The AMK Mac we went was pretty crampy for the (I think) 16 BD kids and their families.

The MAC staff were pretty confused when we told them all the kids are celebrating BD =P Let's see some photos taken..

After most of us had arrived, the MAC staff organised some games.. haa.. which is in a good effort put in by them but our little ones are all prob too young to appreciate those games =P And the MAC lady was so into it and kept insisting we get ourselves separated into 2 groups of the same # of headcount but to us, its not the end results that matter I guess =P

First game: Scooping a ping pong ball with a spoon, walk a distance to a big mug and place the ping pongs into the mug. Well the kids were suppose to go for it one after another but hee.. the mummies (who were guiding their little ones) got out of control.. HAA.. everyone was moving to the box for the pingpong balls all at a time! Some photos of the chaotic game..
1,2,3,4,5 .. "5 little ducks went swimming one day".. hee the little princesses all Q-ed up for the game to start. Girls r always more orderly huh =P

Today darling made this during class:

Its a piece of bread, butter spread, rasins (eyes), carrots (whiskers), cucumbers (ears) and tomatoes (mouth).. after the masterpiece was completed, darling ate the bread, raisins and tomatoes.. the carrots n cucumbers were too raw and darling din like them (well, mummy ate them instead)

Last Saturday was "Stay at Home" day. Ehh.. Not exactly stay home for the whole day. We did our weekly housekeeping in the morning and daddy brought darling for a ride in her "red convertible", buying eggs for breakfast from the NTUC downstairs along the way. Mummy prepared half-boiled eggs for everybody's breakfast. Po po says darling loves them and when asked how many she wants she could reply "2" and showing 2 fingers.
After our housekeeping we went to the library to return our books and borrowed an atonishing amount (18books) of books! The free library membership allows 6books a member (was 4 a few mths ago).. Its such a nice thing.. our NLB.. When we got there, mummy asked darling what book does baby wants, darling replied "the May I book"… Hee, darling remember this book about baby kangaroo learning to say "mummy, may I … please". We were lucky, the book was available for loan that day!
We did plenty of reading in the library and after which we went for lunch @ PH. Mummy ordered a Kids Menu for darling which comprises Pasta, Fried Stared potatos, Orange juice and a serving of ice cream. Well, darling only ate 1/4 of it? The rest were gobbled up by .. who else but Daddy =P
After lunch we went to NTUC and mummy bought sushi making ingredients.. Its been many years since mummy made them. But the NTUC @ HG doesn't have much Sushi ingredients. We only managed to get crabsticks, japanese cucumbers, unagi and of course the rice and vinegar. When we got home mummy put darling to zzzz and daddy went to his beloved hideout "sim lim" to collect some machine he bought many months ago but was sent back for repairs/replacement ..
Mummy started making the sushi while darling zzzzzzzzzz.. And Daddy came home in an hour's time only to realise the machine don't seems to work!? And daddy in the midst of his irritated mood (coz of the machine) was creating much noise which woke darling up (earlier than she should) and mummy was still making sushi! So daddy brought darling along for his 2nd trip to sim lim while mummy continue with sushi making ..

hmm.. but darling ate all the crab sticks, hotdogs and cucumbers, only ate 1/4 of the rice! hmmm, mabbe sushi rice is too sticky for darling coz she gagged on it a couple of times...
Mummy went to buy Pooh bear sushi rice mould yesterday. Shall try make sushi again and this time will be Pooh. Its been a few years since mummy made sushi and well, daddy says they are nice =D

We stayed home on saturday and DIY-ed this bus with tissue box, toilet rolls, paper, poster colors, glue, cartoon characters cut out from tissue boxes (thank you to aunty Julie for the cute tissue boxes).

1st class - PoPo, GongGong (went for medical check up and joined us at the end of class), Daddy n Mummy brot darling to her first class.
Mummy slowly "disappeared" before darling went into sch. Daddy handed darling to po po to go into the classroom and darling cried for daddy while in the classroom for abt 10mins. Darling then settled down with po po. Aft 1hr po po sneaked out and darling started crying on-off
2nd class - po po n daddy. Same amount of drama as her first class..
3rd class - Today darling made vast improvements! Mummy brot darling alone. Went in tgr and aft 10mins mummy told darling that mummy have to get out and darling started crying, refusing to let mummy go out. Finally mummy had to be hard hearted… left the classroom with darling crying in teacher Eve's arms. Surprisingly darling only cried for abt 5-10 mins and then she settled down when teacher Eve gave her a book which darling, aft class, told mummy it's a ladybug book… haa.. With 20mins left to end of class, one of the students brot a BD cake for 3yo celeb. According to teacher Eve, darling was very appreciative of the cake, the candles and participated in the BD song singing. Darling oso had her share of cake, yakut and got a BD gift pack too. And b'coz its nearing Childrens' Day, darling got a Childrens' day gift from the teachers at the end of class.
4th class - Today is Childrens' day, no lesson
5th class - xiaoyi and popo - Darling cried for the first 5mins when she stepped into the classroom. But stopped immediately when teacher Eve gave her the 'ladybug' book =D
6th class - xiaoyi and popo - No crying at all, jux short span of whinning .. Haaa … guess the idea of 'school' is slowly settling into her
7th class - Daddy is on leave and brot darling for class. Daddy was so shocked at darling's advancement.. No crying at all. No whinning and no resistance, went into classroom on her own! Haa.. And this made daddy shed tears of joy "shirui has grown up"!
8th class - Today xiao yi n popo went with darling. According to xiaoyi, darling aft taking off her slippers, went straight into classroom without turning back to look at xiao yi or po po .. No cries .. Absolutely no crying at all, really grown used to it ...
Today is also the last lesson (of the 4weeks trial) for darling b'coz we decided not to sign on new lessons. Purely b'coz the distance is a big headache for popo. Currently darling attends 2x/week but in LT will be increased to 5x/wk and this will be even more taxing on aging popo…although popo insists its ok.. and xiaoyi is available to help out (but only until end of this year b4 she joins workforce), its not a LT solution and mummy had to make the harsh, unbearable decision to stop the class. When mummy told teacher Eve over the phone this morning, teacher Eve said "oh, its such a waste, shirui has settled comfortably in and the teachers like her presence……" - not sure if this is some brainwashing tactics, but mummy oso felt darling has settled in and really a waste to stop her (and when she start new sch, gotta start the crying drama all over again!?). Well mummy asked xiaoyi to gfet darling to kiss and hug the teachers bye bye today since its last class.. to quote xiao yi's sms "just now the teachers 不捨得 your daughter.. She hug hug kiss kiss them…". Teacher Eve then told mummy they may have sch bus services in future (currently there are no takers for such service and they need about 3-4 students before they can start this service) and will keep mummy informed of it and mummy may consider sending darling back to class again ..
Well, mummy will probably sign darling up for classes at this sch at popo's plc (5day week) starting Jan 2010 when darling is 3 years old (by year, though counting by months darling is only 24mths old in Jan 2010). This center does not protray a nice learning env, with aunties taking classes as the 2nd teacher, more play than learning. Well many may think mummy is asking for too much… daddy says let darling try them out for half a year (June2010) and we will reassess. If need to change we will scout for schools which offer sch bus services to eliminate the problem of travelling for popo… ….

Baby Ke En

We visited baby ke en at home on Sunday (mummy and darling went, without daddy coz daddy went Saudi to 'sweep floor').
Ke en was zzz-ing on aunty lala's bed when we got there. Darling peeped at baby ke en zzz-ing and mummy told darling "go ask baby to wake up and play with shirui.." and darling really did so ;) but well being new born, ke en slept and slept and slept ..

So mummy chit chatted with aunty lala, catching up with her.. Coz the main lead was asleep, mummy fed Darling her broocoli + carrots + fish porridge @ the table with aunty lala while aunty lala had her 'ginger feast' … haa .. Aft porridge darling pulled mummy into the room to c baby but ke en was still asleep. Well aunty lala still cant get rid of her habit of stroking/pinching darling's cheeks.. Haa .. and so mummy stroked ke en's cheeks as well =P revenge?

When ke en finally woke up, it was time for her to feed. While ke en cried for milk, darling went to 'wipe' away her tears and ask her not to cry .. Hee.. Cute! Aunty lala latch ke en on and darling watched on … saying 'neh neh..' and when we asked darling if its ok that mummy latch ke en on for neh neh, darling readily replied 'ok'?! Suspect its either she doesn't understand that qn or coz she jux had porridge, not interested in neh neh? And when we said 'mummy carry baby ke en home to sleep tonite.. And shirui sty here with aunty lala, ok?' .. Again her reply was 'ok' .. Haa ..

The two mummies were bz looking at baby, toddler, chit chatting .. And almost forgot to take pic.. It was only when some relatvies came by and uncle vic took out his cam (mummy even brought our own cam and forgot all abt it!) den we rem .. Well.. Took only one foto:

GUG 3rd term

1st class - G
Yeah, today is darling's first class for the 3rd term and it's a new class, the Tots class! Mummy's so excited to see if darling will enjoy as much in her upgraded class =D We were there pretty early and darling headed to her old classroom .. Haa… probably too used to her old class room =D
Anyway, when mummy brought darling over to her new classroom there was only one other student in the classroom, we are really early =D The class schedule is the same for some of the activities:
(1) social play - more advanced toys like threading, lego blocks and bowling pins;
(2) hello/introduction songs singing - same songs;
(3) Zoo bag and the 3 words starting with G - today's 3 words are Green, Grapes and Glooves. Teacher handed everyone a Grape and the kids have to say 'grapes' before they 'earn' their grapes =D;
(4) reciting & matching Zoophonics, something new for zoophonics is each child would sit in Teacher Wei's lap and do tracing of the letter G whilst teacher wei made all of them repeat the 3 G words as well as the pronounciation of G;
(5) 3-letter words pronounciation is the 2nd activity which is new. Today's word is PIG and teacher wei went thru it as "Pewee Penguin P P P", "Inny Inchworm I I I", "Gordon Gorilla G G G" = P-I-G
(6) tea break
(7) chinese segment - Li Lao Shi took charge of the chinese class and so did daddy. Mummy wanted daddy to take the 2nd half and told darling abt it and Darling said 'ok'. But when mummy stood up, darling went "ma ma, ma ma, ma ma" .. Hee… and Teacher wei came over saying "sr? tot u promised its ok for mummy to go out?" well, so mummy told darling again .. And darling said ok ..AGAIN..
When mummy peeped into the class again, could hear darling going "ma ma, ma ma ...." hee.. And its teacher wei to the rescue! Haaa, if any of you follows our blog, you may find this familiar, coz teacher wei had previously saved daddy once when darling went "ma ma ma mammmmmmma" in class =P So teacher wei sat darling in her laps, aft a while daddy took over.
Li Lao Shi's segment includes singing (animals songs in mandrian), introducing animals (in mandrian) and lastly story telling with a lot of props (in mandrian). The class was abit off control during the story telling as the kids were busy taking the props away from their designated posts!
(8) Project work: Darling planted onions today =D A plastic cup, some soil, an onion and abit of water was all that was required and darling came out of class happily, with her plastic cup in a plastic bag and was able to tell mummy where's her onion .. Hope they sprout into spring onions soon and darling could eat her own "crop" .. Heee

Compared to the Babes class, there was no LIVE music class and the project work is something more 'challenging'. Overall mummy's delighted and satisfied with the class. SOOO looking forward to the next class.. Honey Horse, here we come "Neigh"!!!

2nd class - H
Darling wore her Tigger costume to class today! Haa.. Coz mummy din wan the costume to be white elephant at home (only wore it once during darling's 9mths foto shoot!). Darling trained for her tiger roars at home but when we got to class, she refused to roar, paiseh =P heeeee
Today's Artncraft session was really messy.. "Hand made flower". The session was conducted in chinese by Li Lao Shi (which I tot is gd coz it allows darling n her classmates to b exposed to instructions in mandarin … ). So wat's so messy abt this session? Everyone had their palms into the orange paint n stamped onto the paper to make flower petals.. …… here's darling's flower :

There is Music class today and .. Hee.. The children went to the zooooooo and saw a tiger! Haa and so darling is the tiger everyone saw in school =P

3rd class - I
Today's zoo animal is inny inchworm and teacher wei drew worms on all the childrens' pointer finger.. Quite nice n innovative coz when the kids wriggle their pointer fingers, it looks lilke inny worming itself around =D There's artncraft today too and Theme is "circle shape" .. Stamping (using wine bottles stopper- circles) on a picture of a bus n drawing circular windows (using crayons) and ended with teacher wei distributing circle shaped biscuits to all the kids..

Li Lao Shi read a chinese book abt Little pig inviting his animal frens over for mummy's BD party. Many animals were introduced and their feeding habits were matched to each of the animal frens. Well, there was BD song singing of course =D

Somehow toddlers' classes seems to last longer .. Hee.. More value for money? Hiak hiak .. But mummy likes it .. Really =D

4th class - J
Spiders were the topic for today's chinese and project lessons. Insy was sang in a mandarin version! Darling learnt a new chinese word and is able to rem it till now (muckssss to my darling). For project time, Lu lao shi showed how 2 pieces of circular biscuits, some biscuit sticks, rasins and jam could be combined to become a "spider for eating" =D The jam was spread on the circular biscuits, the sticks were broken into 8 pieces for spider legs and 'stuck' onto the circular biscuits using jam as glue. Lastly the rasins were placed on top as the spider's eyes. Darling ate the eyes and the legs. Din take the body (daddy helped himself to them instead.. Greedy daddy)

5th class - K
Kiwi fruits were introduced to the class today. "K" for kiwi.. Darling finished her's and wanted more =P she went to teacher wei for more but lucky darling was so dong shi.. mummy told darling each one gets 1 only and darling seems to understand and gave the spoon back to Lu lao shi for keeping =D

6th class - L
Lizzy lizard is one lazy lizard that likes to put both hands under her chin and goes 'llllllllllllllll' the whole day. Teacher wei laid down on her tummy and showed everyone lizzy lizard's posture. Darling followed suit and did it the whole session =D
Limes were used for art n craft today. Lu lao shi cut limes and passed them ard for everyone to smell them. Yellow and blue paint were introduced and mixed together to form the color of the limes = green.

7th class - M
Daddy's out of town and hence not going to be with us for this class till the end of the term =(

Today gong gong went with us, probably wanting to help mummy with darling (sharing the weight?!). We were late today coz the journey from gong gong's to sch wasn't as fast as mummy estimated it to be. Thanks to the F1 race, mummy din want to take the cab (for fear of road closures…) and we cant take that one direct bus frm gong gong's to gug. Well so we missed the first 1/2hr of sing along (which darling missed it dearly coz darling was tapping on the mat for it when we entered the classroom)…. This coming week we shall not set off from gong gong's le .. Hmmmm

Today's project work was fine motor skills and building vocab. Pictures of food, clothing, vehicles were printed on paper, laminated and cut out. These were dispersed ard the room and the children were asked to pick up food items to feed their fren, the "MMMMMMM Monster". Lu lao shi sang the 'xia yu ge' for mandarin lesson today and took out a brolly to 'shelter' everyone from the rain =D darling noes that song and was singing along with lu lao shi .. Hee =D

@ the end of today's class, teacher wei and lu lao shi gave out childrens' day pressies for everyone.

14 Aug Dinner

Today mummy met up with frens from NTU for dinner after work. Daddy was on leave and so daddy brought darling to meet us at city hall. Nat came along with Jingen and of course daddy CK came too. Its been a long while since jingen n darling 'met up'.. heee .. its fun to c the two girls tgr.
Jingen spilled some soup over and wet her jeans. So off we go, shopping for new, clean clothes for jingen to change into. And thanks to aunty marg, both darling & jingen got each a new dress, same pattern diff colors:

Happy Teachers' Day

1st Sept is Teachers' Day. Yesterday (30th Aug) at GUG (our third class), we got gifts for the teachers for Teachers' Day.
Mummy got 4 wooden bears (2-D) and wooden alphabets during the week for darling to DIY for her teachers. The 4 bears were painted by Darling in red, blue, green and yellow over 2 weekday nites and golden glitter was sprinkled over them. Alphabets W (teacher wei), A (ash), R (Russell) and L (Li Lao Shi) were then glued on the bears. Think darling had much fun squeezing the glue frm the tube .. Hee.. Coz she went "squeezeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee" as she squeezes the tube .. So funny.
Lastly darling picked her own name stickers n pasted dem behind the bears as her 'sign-off'.

Mummy handed the gifts to darling at the end of the class and darling gave them to her teachers, giving them hugs n kisses before leaving class. And teacher Wei asked darling "shirui, is it teacher wei's BD? Hmm.. No its Teachers Day.." and went on to teach darling to say "Happy Teachers' Day" and darling managed it =D

26th Aug is popo's BD but it is a weekday so the celeb was scheduled on sat 29th instead. We wanted to go JB tgr as a family but decided there's nothing there for darling to do .. Haaaa .. So settled for a whole afternoon of KTV from 2 pm to 7 pm. Mummy was so worried abt the timing coz it would mean darling dun get her afternoon nap.. But who noes darling is really a little piglet .. Hee.. She zzz from 4 to 5plus, almost 2 hours in the noisy ktv room =P heeee .. Probably really tired ;)

8th yr Pak Tor anniversary

1st Aug 2001, the year daddy 'con' mummy =P Its been 8 years.. hmmm.. not too long huh? But we pak tor, get wed, became parents within these 8 yrs..

Daddy n mummy went out the nite b4 (po po had to work OT to look aft shirui darling =P), had ice cream, window shopped and dinner at vivocity. Its pretty rare that we get er ren shi jie nowadays. Daddy ordered 8 roses and was sent to mummy's office. It's in a glass vase, veri heavy!

Mummy treated daddy to ice cream and wanted to get daddy a pair of crocs sandals but daddy din spot anything he likes (hee.. so its no pressie for daddy other than the ice cream).

The next day (saturday) we went for an event called "Pak Tor with U @ the movies". Pak tor with daddy and shirui =D Tickets only costs $2 per pax. The event was to start at 5pm end at 930pm at Esplanad park.

Daddy cooked pasta for us in the afternoon for a filling lunch. B'coz we had a late n filling lunch, we totally forgot abt packing food for ourselves to the pinic! But darling still got her dinner coz mummy steamed rice, brocoli and soup, packed them to the park for darling's dinner.

When we got there, we joined the Q for the goodies bag and entered the area cordoned off for the event. The was a MC on the stage, providing some entertainment like games, songs, etc.

Ehh.. other than forgetting abt our dinner, we din bring our pinic mat! So daddy went to gather cupboard boxes from the event organisers as out mats. After we have settled down, daddy went back to city hall area to get us dinner while mummy fed darling her dinner. Yum yum nice nice was darling's comments on dinner =D and finished most of it. When mummy told po po abt it the next day, po po tinks its coz darling is hungry le, would finish anything up!!

Darling was kept busy with the music, the many balloons everywhere, balloons floating into the sky and eating of mummy's dinner - sandwiches, muffins, tibits. When the NDP preview started around 6plus, we had the chance to see the apache flying over our heads with the big Singapore Flag.

GUG - 2nd term

1st class - Y
BOO.. Darling down with fever and LS, din attend class =(

2nd class - Z
YEAH YEAH! Aft a week's break darling is back to her class.. bOOO.. But teacher wei is no longer in the class, she is taking the tots class instead. So darling still would c teacher wei ard =D
Teachers for this term are Russel and Ash (on leave, relief by Nora). Probably due to the week's break, darling was reluctant to go into her class! As usual we brought darling to wash her hands and mummy asked darling to walk into class on her own, darling din wan and hugged mummy's legs ultra tightly. So mummy had to carry darling into class and while teacher nora checks darling hands and feet, mummy tried to 'break the ice' for darling by asking where's teacher russell (with head buried in some files). Teacher russel played along and did peekaboo with darling .. Hee.. And the ice is broken =P
Darling was her normal self thereafter, singing, dancing, doing all the actions thru the singalong session. There's no artncraft today. Instead a session on eye-hand coordination was conducted - pushing little toy vehicles aong zig zag lines on the floor (drawn using masking tapes).

3rd Class - A
No art n craft for today. The children did some Fishing of anchorvives instead =D and well.. The whole classroom and the children were wet after the session .. Heee .. Teacher Russell drew apples on everyone's hands and darling gets to 'eat' the apples on her hands the whole day. Today's reading is the book "The hungry caterpillar" which darling has 'read' before =P mummy ever loan that book from the library, not once but twice coz mummy noes darling quite like the book. There was also an Animal parade today whereby each child was given an animal toy which they place inside empty tissue boxes and pulled the boxes ard the room. Well darling got herself 2 animals instead of just 1 .. Hee .. So KS!

4th Class - B
Daddy is not around and Gong Gong came with us. We took an hour's bus ride to Suntec and darling was very well behaved on the bus, no screaming nor fidgetting to get off gong gong's lap =D We were very early when we got there. Teacher Ash was still preparing the classroom and hence we loitered around and mummy asked darling to go and wash her hands. Hee.. Darling headed for the washroom, stepped on the little stool and was all ready to wash her hands (alone, coz mummy was still outside getting our things ready) and teacher wei came over "shirui, what are you doing? Playing with water?" hee… and darling was 'caught in the act' and she simply stood there and looked back at teacher wei with "innocent look" in her eyes =P
Today's animal is Bubba Bear (mummy tinks its not a veri cute bear.. haaa) and words learnt are Bubbles and Butterfly. The kids had rice crackers with Bananas today, learning to scoop food using their spoons from the bowls. The children were introduced to little floating Boats. Each child was given a little Boat to 'float' on tubs of water the teachers prepared. Mummy realised Darling wasn't very interested in them.. And finale as usual is darling's fav.. LIVE band music sing-along =D

5th Class - C
Teacher russell had recommended darling to b promo to tots class =D but there are not space in the current term for darling in the same slot, hence we gotta wait till the term's over. Come the following term and Darling is "TOTS" .. Heee .. YEAH.. Haaa..

Geral was suppose to join us for class as trial today .. But something crop up .. And well she din get to join us afterall. Today something's not too ok for darling .. She refused daddy's company at half time, so mummy took the whole session. No art and craft today, instead its water play! Hee.. Teachers prepared bowls, cups with holes, bottles with holes, strainer etc to let the kids experiment that containers with holes cant hold water at all =D Darling had a great time with the water but was shivering a little after the water play.

6th Class - D
De de deer was introduced today and all the kids in the class mistaken him for DOG! Haa… he sure looks more like a dog.. Today is art n craft .. Yeah! Sponge art on paper .. And each student was given an ice cream stick and a fork to create lines on the painted paper, learning "long" and "short" lines. Darling also rejected daddy at half time so mummy took all except for "Live" music class. After the class we rushed back to po po's hse .. Hee.. Mummy had to leave darling with po po coz mummy gg for LIVERPOOL vs Singapore match with ah yi =D

7th Class - E
Ellie Elephant is the animal for today and the other E words are Eight and Elbow. The "point to your elbow" game was played and darling walked around her class, pointing at everyone's elbow =D There is a new rhyme today and it is really a long tongue twister! For once mummy cant rem all of the lyrics and darling wasn't able to follow it through:
Its something like this "5 firefighters standing very still, 1 …. 2 … 3 … 4…. 5… " HAAA .. Perhaps by the end of the August mummy would have mastered it all! Today's art n craft work, the teachers gave the kids black n white paint and a piece of paper, cut into the shape of an elephant. The colors were mixed using a toothbrush and 'brushed' onto the elephant. Darling only did 50% of the brushing and the rest was completed by mummy .. Haaa .. And one of the students had paint on his face and lips, everywhere! Hee.. Sure looks fun to mummy ;) heee, lucky darling did not create such a big mess. During the class, there were times when darling wasn't quite a good girl and when mummy 'scold' darling in a stern voice, darling would pout her lips and guai guai come back to sit down with mummy .. Looks like our little darling is growing up, having a mind of her own and is learning to listen to instructions and assess the situation from mummy's tone? And which means mummy's "honeymoon" period whereby darling is very much a cute, little obedient girl, is ending soon .. And the little devil is in the making! Hmm… mummy and daddy mux act fast and stern from now on so that our darling would be a lesser devil =P

8th Class - F / Public holiday .. No class and no make up too … bo hua =( and mummy juz realised there's also a public holiday in the upcoming term.. Booo. .. Lugi big time =O

YEAH, our long outstanding Sentosa Trip

18 July:
Mummy woke up early to cook darling's porridge for dinner (to pack to Sentosa). Darling probably knew we are going for our 1st Sentosa outing and was very co-operative at her breakfast =D finished full serving of her brown rice + banans + milk breakfast within 20mins.

We took NEL, stopped at Vivo for lunch. Darling had some soup + rice + chicken for her early lunch. We oso bot breadtalk orange steam cake and bread for our consumption on the island. Then its off to the Sentosa train at Vivo. The ride costs $1 and entrance to the island is $2. Darling was so excited to see the train and went 'tu tu train' =D We board the train, cross the sea, saw boats (and sang the 3 little sailing boats song), saw the intergrated resorts which is still under construction and oso the roller coaster tracks! But darling couldn't understand the roller coaster tracks, neither was she able to spot the cable cars up in the sky (which appeared mini in the far away sky) despite mummy's repeated attempts to point her to them ..

Our first stop: Palawan Beach..We wanted to catch the animals show at the grand stand at 12noon and we only had 15mins to get there! So we ran there.. HAAAA .. Great exercise for mummy n daddy .. Darling was being carried by mummy and then daddy thru'out our run .. HAA.. But but .. Booo .. When we got there, the staff told us that the weather is not too gd and the show would probably b cancelled =(
Looking up we saw dark clouds forming and we quickly went into the nearby food court. Mummy decided to latch darling on and prob let darling have a booster nap.. Who noes the rain stopped within 10mins. So daddy brought darling out into the open for sandplay.. .. Urgh and daddy got darling wet!

Goodness! See the cellulite on darling's thighs?!

Mummy din plan for darling to get wet and din bring her shampoo. So mummy went to the nearby 7-11 got baby bath and baby lotion. Aft some wet play mummy took darling to the ladies to clean up. Goodness me… there isn't any children cleaning up area and mummy had to wash darling up under the normal adult overhead shower. Well mummy got all wet washing darling up… Aft washing up we went for the primates show. Darling wanted to walk towards the open stage area to see the monkeys up close .. Haa..

Aft the show, we rushed for the dolphin show at 1pm and its running again .. Haaa… daddy n mummy sure lose some weight =P The dolphin show wasn't too interesting coz the dophins were performing at a stage which was so far away from the audience. Darling only catch a few glimpse of the dolphins and thereafter she is busy playing with sand and laid down on the sand!

Aft the dolphin show we took the island tram from Palawan beach to the other side of the island - Siloso beach for the underwater world. Here are some pictures from the underwater world visit:
There is an open tank whereby visitors may reach into the water to touch the fishes. Darling reached in but can get to the fishes which were darting around the tank!

Darling probably learnt how a shark, stingray, starfish, crab, spider crab, octopus, cuttlefish, dugong, etc looks like =D The octopus which looks pretty yucky and scary gave darling a scare whilst the sea angel with cute little tiny flipping wings amused darling and she tried to immitate the little sea angel's flipping-wings action. Darling fell asleep in daddy's arms during the 2nd round of the underwaterworld tunnel walk and we left the exhibits and headed for the gifts shop. Mummy bought animal cups, animal puzzles, a turtle soft toy and sea creatures stickers for darling.

We wanted to head for Songs of the Sea venue after Underwater world tour but darling woke up and hence we let darling play at the sand playground first. Here's darling enjoying herself in the sand and the house for little ones =D

Our last stop for the day is Songs of the Sea .. When we got to the venue, mummy got down to feed darling her porridge .. Whilst daddy went to get the tics … boooo … daddy came back with bad news, the tics for the 2 shows are SOLD OUT! We din expect it else we would have bot the tics when we first got to the island in the morning.. So we ended our day early, leaving for main land and got home by 8pm.. Its been an exicting, energy burning and great family outing day for us =D Thank you daddy for keeping to your promise to bring us on Sentosa .. Looking forward to our postphoned Zoo outing .. and perhaps Sentosa #2 for Songs of the Sea ?

11 june - Daddy's not around!

We went to 'hide' at po po's house coz daddy had to report for his overnite ICT, back only on Sunday =D
Mummy took darling on bus 43 with a lot of barang barang (stingy mummy refused to take cab .. Haa.. Anyway oso cant get cab on a Saturday aftnoon!?). We stopped over at the playground and darling played on the slide (with a jie jie). Darling was veri obedient when mummy said last round darling understood and stopped playing. We went into the shop n save to cool down.
We finally reached po po hse at 130 and darling zzzzzzzzzz till 430 (must be ultra tired with the outdoor activities?!). Mummy finished the bus tissue case for darling's bag while darling slept the afternoon away.. our bus =D

Gong gong n popo came back from their shopping spree at beach road. Po po stocked up a lot of dried foodstuff and gong gong got darling a sand play set with wheel barrow, pail, fork and spade. Darling surprised us when she lifted the wheel barrow and pushed in using the one n oni front wheel! Mummy tot darling would bend over n push the low barrow.. Smart girl =D
Gong gong then decided the fishes in the fish tank deserve new water and darling had a go at catching real "live" fishes! But darling din catch any, the furtherest she went was to point at them and use her spade to scoop water from the tub to her mini pail. Ended up ALL wet and no fishes caught =P

Visit to Sengkang Fire Station (4th June)

We went for our jog at Punggol park today. Our 2nd time to the park and today mummy brought darling's sand play toys to let darling play with at the sand pit. When we got there daddy started his jog while mummy stayed with darling at the sand pit. Darling dugged a mini hole, made her own fish & turtle figurines (using the sand moulds). When daddy came back he played with darling at the playground while mummy went for a jog around the park. Mummy only ran 1 round which is about 1.1km only =P After mummy came back we went to wash our hands and feet at the park's toilet and headed for the Sengkang Fire Station behind our house =D
It was mummy n darling's first time, eye opener… but to dearest daddy, it is his at finger tips .. Coz daddy is with SCDF for his NS.. And during his reservist, ICT, IPPT etc he is exposed to such equipment. Our first station was the Control room (shiok! Coz it's the only air-conditioned place in the whole premises!). There was this button which amuses mummy a lot on the control panel which reads "Traffic Light". So mummy asked and was told that in the event that the Fire Engine needs to go out (emergency), the control room would press this button and the traffic light outside the station would turn in RED immediately for the fire engines to go out.. WOW WOW.. Can control traffic leh =P
Our tour guide then brought us to view the Fire engine and explained all the parts and equipments on it. There weer hoses of 3 different sizes, video camera on the front seat to video cam any vehicles who refuses to give way on the road! The back seats which can take about 5 firemen is really crampy and low overhead.. Poor firemen has to cramp in there… There were all sorts of equipment, from Bio-chemicals, heavy saws to cut locked doors/gates, small and simple devices to break car windows and cut car seat belts. We were shown a mini camera which is worn in foggy/smoky surroundings and our firemen would find it easier to spot victims.
Next we were shown the Ambulance. There were 3 of them and was told one had gone out for "call" already. Our tour guide told us that ambulances calls are more freq than that of fire engines, that's why there are more ambulances compared to only 1 fire engine in the station. And the control of the traffic lights would only be activated when there are fire engine calls coz there are too many ambulance calls. There are mini fire engines (mummy dun rem wat they are called) which are posted at "Fire Posts". Fire Posts are similar to our Neighborhood Police Posts (NPPs). These mini fire engines are stationed at 2 different NPPS so that they could react to fire calls faster. The medic was about to start explaining the things we see on the ambulance when there was a call for ambulance and we were there to see the ambulance go out in ONE minute, with the medic, driver and another personnel (mummy cant rem what's the name …). ALL ambulances and Fire engines HAVE to leave the premises within ONE minute from the call, failure to do so the officer would need to write long long reports and penalised for it. So we saw the medic ran to don his uniform, ran to the control room for the call report and "zoom" off they go!
With the ambulance gone, our tour guide showed us to the Fire engine motorbike & Ambulance motorbike. They are really huge and heavy and heavily equipped compared to normal bikes on the road. Even a Harley cant be compared to their size! Really takes a strong big man to drive one… these comes with all the nec equipments to save lives and the fire engine motorbike even has 2 gas tanks. One tank for our fireman cum motorcyclist and the other to pump water out for fire fighting purposes. The poor fireman would have to wear the double tanks on their backs while they put out fires. Cant image if they need to run up staircases with the tanks?!
After the bikes we went to view this fire engine tanker. It is meant for fighting bush/forest fires coz they do not have the normal wheels. Our tour guide demo how it is done and daddy had a go at it too. There was a Sliding Pole performance whereby 4-5 firemen on duty slide down their poles. They can even 'brake' in midpoint on the poles. The officer on duty advised that (there was another group of visitors) such sliding pole performance is not meant for boys to try on at playground poles!
We had a go at Fire fighting too. WOW the hose is VERY heavy and the water pressure .. Mummy suffered a bruise cut on the underarm after holding the hose underarm to fight fire!
The finale was a ride Up the eletric ladder. Well we din climb, we took a ride on the open air lift and were brought up to 7 storeys height. The wind is great and so is the view =D Darling was 'wow-ing' thru'out. Daddy leaned forward and showed darling the height. Darling din appeared scared =D
When the tour ended, we were given souvenirs pens and pencils and darling got herself a Fireman helmet!

Mummy got bonus for the year (not alot, really not alot..boo) so darling got herself a new toy ;) (what an excuse for getting a new toy for darling). Its a mini kitchen set! We went to uncle winson's place a few weeks back and mummy saw darling having hsuch fun with it and so decided to get one for darling too... Though the box states an age which is darling's current + 4 .. haaa
Anyway, mummy is afraid most of the food, utensils, forks and spoons would be lost in a few weeks time! Mummy's tinking of DIY some 'food' for darling too.. using paper or cloth.. whilst daddy can make food using darling's doh =D

Poor darling fell sick =(

We wanted to go for a family outing to the zoo on 20th Jun, celebrating Fathers' Day as well. But our poor darling fell sick. It the first time darling is sick apart from her normal injections related mild fevers so we were all caught off hand!

She had fever on Friday morning and mummy fed paracetamol to bring down her temp. After that mummy went off for work leaving darling with Po Po. Who noes in the afternoon darling's fever persisted and she started to LS! Mummy panicked and quickly called daddy (who happened to be on leave) to bring darling to the doc. So sad that dr tay at HG Mall has stopped practising =( and so daddy brought darling to dr koh at amk sbcc. Verdict frm dr koh - viral infection in stomach resulting in LS and high fever.. =(

That nite darling's cousins came and stay overnite coz its sch hols and will set off for Zoo on sat morning tgr. But with darling's fever and LS still persisting .. We decided dat mummy and darling shall stay home whilst daddy go for the zoo trip with ah ma and the rest. (we din wan to call the whole ting off coz we were the one who suggested for it..and everyone was looking forward to it..) Mummy din sleep the whole nite, keeping watch over darling's fever and changing her diapers once she LS to prevent rashes… at 3am her fever got really high and the med din seems to be working! Daddy rushed down to our 24hrs NTUC and got ice packs to stick on darling.. But still high high and so we decided to go KKH A&E. Over at KKH, the dr gave darling Nurofen (via mouth) but darling vomitted it out and so, no choice, the med were given via darling's bums! BOOOOOOOOOOO .. Darling was screaming when mummy put her down on the bed and when the med was inserted she SCREAMED and CRIED and BIG BIG tears came. Darling was screaming "ma ma, ba ba" throughout … sobzzzz… so poor ting .. Boooo ..

Sat was WAR.. Darling used at least 30 pcs of diapers with her LS… in the end mummy decided to let her wear pants and sit potty. Eating oni diluted porridge the whole day, lots of water and all kinds of cooling liquids/mixtures from Ah ma and po po. Of course BM as well. Darling latched on at least 10 times a day, guessed it's the oni way she can get comfort frm her pain… so mummy gave in.. Sat evening everyone came over to visit darling. Ah ma, ah gong, da bo, da bo mu, po po and gong gong… ah ma even da bao dinner over for us.. Dat evening darling's bums started to ve rashes and would scream and put up a fierce fite everytime she LS and we clean her up .. Haizzz… *heartpain*

On Sunday fever has subsided but LS still come n go and of course reddish bums. We had to give GUG class a miss. Initially we wanted to bring darling there but she decided to take a nap at 1030 and din wake till 2pm.. Class ended liao =P

Darling recovered from her LS sometime on Tuesday and the rashes went off by Wednesday. What an ordeal! Really hope darling wont catch any viral attack again.. Tiring for all and painful for her =( booo

Haizz.. And we missed our zoo outing =( .. We are planning an underwaterworld outing in mid july… *cross fingers* noting goes wrong …

GUG - 1st term

Darling has completed her 8 classes at GUG.. An update on all her classes and performance =P
1st class - Q
This being the first class, darling was overwhelmed by the veri enthusiatic teachers and cried when teacher Russell came too near =P Daddy was not able to join us for our first class (need to work) and so mummy went through with darling for the entire 1.5hrs. Today's alphabet is Q and darling's first piece of art n craft work is playing with cling wrap, glue and glitters. The cling wrap was pasted on a paper and glitters were sprinkled all over it.

2nd class - R
Today darling was very excited by the rabbit soft toy (from the ZOO bag) and she hugged and kissed many times =D No art n craft was done today. Instead they played with cereals n jam, sticking cereals to paper plates with jam. Hee...darling prob enjoyed eating the cereals more than anything else!

Darling continued with her love for the "animal" from the ZOO bag.. and she kissed .. Sammy the Snake today! HEEE.. and well, as teacher Wei would say, only Sammy Snake is kissable, the other snakes that we see outside would be too dangerous for kissing =P

There was a story telling session today, about the little cat who wanted to be like a tiger, growling/roaring/jumping around!
Today darling played with poster colors.. teacher wei showed the children how would mixing the colors RED and YELLOW gives us ORANGE. Some glue was mixed into the colors so that the black stripes of the tiger would stay on =D

5th - U
No art n craft today. Instead the class had their first encounter with flour, what a mess! buckets of flour and shreds of crepe paper were placed into tubs. Little animal toy figurines were 'hidden' in the tubs and the children was asked to dip their hands in to find the figurines.. darling ended the session with her hot pink socks turning white with flour!

6th - v
Today's animal was vincent the vampire bat.. who did not come out from the ZOO bag.. instead it was hanging from the ceiling like most other bats would. The class was asked to 'find' him =D

7th - w
When we reached the school today, we realised the BIG GUG bear was missing from the front desk .. something's wrong?

The session started rather differently, with art n craft done during the first session (its normally done at 2nd half).
See darling's watermelon art piece, green was colored using the paintbrush which darling still hasn't learnt how to hold properly.. :

2nd session was the BIG BEAR HUNT! Now we know why is the BIG bear missing at the front desk! It started with story reading of a book titled "The Bear hunt" .. in the story, the children waddled through the rivers (tubs of water was prepared in the classroom for the children to waddle in!), under the trees (streams of green crepe paper were pasted on on the door frame and the children walked under them!), crawled through tunnels (there was a tunnel in another classroom which the children have 2 crawl through to get to the BIG bear!) .. darling went through all the obstacles.. hee.. except the last .. coz she saw the BIG bear in the room and ran straight at it, skipping her last obstacle course!
This is mummy's favourite session so far =D

8th - v
Today's art n craft involved painting Xavier Fox and pasting his tail .. we dun ve the snapshot of it coz its still in class =D

1st term review:
Hee.. darling should be graduating to the parents n tots class for the 2nd term coz she is past 18mths.. but when mummy called the sch to query, we were told that darling's whole class would be 'retained' .. haa.. cant promote to the tots class!!! Reason being: teacher wei and teacher russell thinks the class is not ready for tots class, they would prob need another term to learn to settle down in class n listen to instructions =P Furthermore the tots class students would be exposed to reading of 3-letter words!.. darling haven master her 26 alphabets yet =P So mummy's ok to let darling stay in babes class ;) And mummy thinks darling loves teacher wei and teacher russell after all these 8 classes.
Verdict: sign on another term ;) and pray that the same teachers would be with us .. =D

Liwen's wedding

CONGRATULATIONS Liwen!!! Its finally here.. and over... All the busy preparations all for this important big big day. Mummy used to say its actually a 'wayang' session.. haa.. for the elders, relatives to 'watch'..

The day started in the morning with the typical gatecrashing, 8 xiong dis and 9 jie meis, ultra crowded! haa... the Groom had to go through "pit stops" which includes the QnA with sour/sweet/bitter/hot as punishment, buying of clues, picking beans with chopsticks, running around the compound (good exercise in the morning!).. a little misfortune was one of the jiemeis were injured at the last "pit stop" when the xiong dis decided to bulldoze themselves into the bride's room..
After the fun gatecrashing session, its the more serious praying and tea ceremonies at both the groom and bride's place. And the bride n groom went to the hotel for their rest before the nite event..

The wedding dinner reception is at Swisotel (clark quay), splendid location for us.. hee.. NELine =D We got there slightly before 7pm and went to the bridal room to look c look c =D

Shirui darling and geral played with each other for a while .. hee.. hugging, catching, chasing, kissing each other! so fun to c them play =D and liwen's mummy kept commenting that darling has lost weight!!! HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Poor charmine wasn't oo used to the big place, the big crowd and did not get into the ballroom the whole night. Mummy brought darling out of the ballroom, looking for Charm and when we did find them, charm was 'overwhelmed' by darling's advances too (despite being the same generation).. hope she would grow to adapt to such situations soon =D oh ya, and charm has been signed up for the same GUG class (slot) as darling! Charm, cya at GUG this sunday =D

When we got home that nite, mummy realised we din take any other photos, hmph! Mummy was busy with shirui darling the whole nite.. hmmm .. Hope the PG took some pict of geral n sr playing together .. hee... so cute.

13 June Saturday 1630hours
YEAH! its finally here and mummy's more excited than darling over the session..? hee
It started out with an ambitious group of 9 kiddos (3 over 3yrs, the rest are born in 2007). However some mummies and their little ones couldn't make it and in the end there were only 3 children, including darling shirui..
Jiawen and mummy were on time and YUM YUM YUM.. HEE .. Jiawen's mummy baked cakes! soooo talented.. the orange flavoured cake is something new and refreshing.. thumbs up

Zhixin 'overslept' for her afternoon nap.. haa.. so she came over with mummy Wan oni at ard 5. Brother de wanted his dearie beauty sleep in the afternoon and hence was not here.
Our session started with the kids and mummies in darling's room for sing-along and story reading time. Toys were put into a big white bag and all the tots had a go in getting a toy out from the bag. For each toy out of the bag, a song related to the toy was sung. We sang the "BINGO Dog", "5 Little ducks" and "Fly fly butterfly" songs.
After the first round of ice breaker, we all 'jumped, walked, swinged' ourselves to the ZOO, singing along to the "We'r going to the Zoo" tune. Mummy read "Elmo goes to ZOO" book which introduced animals like Ellie the Elephant, Zeke the Zebra ...
Den its Art n Craft time! Vegetables painting! Mummy and sweetest daddy prepared the vegetables before the 'class' started (while darling shirui was napping in the early afternoon). Hee.. pictures of the veg after the session:

We went for a trial class at Pat's on the saturday that just passed. It is the last part of our project to find sr a cc which would include NI-K2. Earlier in the year mummy n daddy had already QC thru a few choices ard popo's area.
Sat's class was at 915am and we were told to b there 10mins earlier for temperature taking etc. When we got there, there was only a mummy and her daughter.. wat a surprise. Anyway by the time the class ended, there were only sr and 3 girls. The class was supposed to be 6 students, apparently 3 din turn up?!
The class 'schedule' runs as follow:
- Free play (its actually waiting for the other students to arrive) which the teacher (looks very young, prob in her early twenties) let sr and the early comers (or rather arrived on the dot?) do some drawing.
- Fastrack which is a story telling/song/music and video watching segment. A book on the nursery rhythm - 10 fat sausages, was read and the teacher went through the rhythm. A video (from YOUTUBE) on a teacher doing the rymthm at class was screened lastly.
- Cooking your own french toast for breakfast. Everyone had a go at beating the eggs, soaking the bread in the beated egg and lastly putting the bread into the frying pan. It was darling's first time and well, its an eye opener =D
- Outdoor play at the playground
- Singalong
Verdict: mummy n daddy appreciated the outdoor play and the cooking session. The rest of the lesson was ok... and so we decided we shall stay on with sr's current class at gug ..

Day out at Sembawang Shopping Center

Yeah, daddy finally brought us to Sembawang shopping center .. u may wonder wat's so exciting? There's outdoor water play for shirui there!

When we got there we spent quite awhile in Daiso and mummy got shirui many art n craft equipment and supplies =D

After that we walked ard the complex and shirui 'car hopped' hee.. from thomas the train to the aeroplane and finally to the bananas in pj.

There was a big balloon castle and daddy paid $2 for shirui to ve some jumping fun in there (20mins). Well as expected, we spent at least 5 mins trying to get shirui to come out aft the time was up!

And after that off to the waterplayground! mummy got an over-sized tee-shirt from Daiso (as well as towel) and dressed shirui in it while she played in the "rain" =P

After waterplay we headed for dinner and its Fish n Co.. darling wasn't in the best of moods after her play and din finish her porridge dinner =( so we went home st aft dinner, let darling ve early rest =D

Sick le

Mummy's been sick for a week le.. Last friday (holiday) mummy came down with flu and cough (thanks to the germs distributor - daddy) and hence couldn't bring darling anywhere to enjoy the 3 day long weekend. We only went HG Mall to run some errands in the afternoon. Mummy din visit the doc until Sat morning. Daddy had an exam to take in the aftnoon and mummy din wan to sty home alone with darling (coz not feeling well mah) so we packed our things and headed to PoPo's to seek refuge. Mummy slept the whole day through and by night time was feeling slightly better (had a short run of fever in the late evening, but subside in less than 2hrs time)..

That night all 3 of us stayed over at PoPo's and next morning we headed home, bathe and brought darling to Suntec for GUG class. It was the 2nd lesson. Today's zoo animal is Robbi the Rabbit. Teacher Wei drew cute little carrots on darling and her classmates' wrists to 'feed' Robbi. Darling was SOOOOooo excited to Robbi and she was the only one laufing out loud and kept running to Teacher to be near Robbi! Teacher Wei had to say "shirui, calm down.. u are overly excited!" at times =P

Other than Robbi, darling had a chance to play with cereals and strawberry jam for project time! hee.. pasting cereals on paper plates using jam.. daddy guided darling through this session and daddy said, darling ate more than she pasted!

Mummy's so looking forward to 3rd class this sunday. Oh ya, and we are gg ECP Jumbo for Mothers' Day dinner after sunday's class... reason why ECP? hee.. popo suggested ECP coz darling can go play at the beach, sand and water before dinner =D Shall post our fotos of the outing and dinner after it =D

3rd day ! HK

We stumbled upon a wet market on our 3rd day while we were scouting for a makan plc which dayipo saw on TV. End up the aunties in popo and dayipos' blood overpowered the hunger in their tummies!

We ended up having breaky at the market stalls.. yum yum shrimp/fish wanton mee, beef kway teow and dim sum. Darling had fish kuay teow too =D and oso packed away some in darling's food flask for consumption later in the day..

Next we took the MTR to Wong Tai Sin.. a chinese temple.. with many many booths of fortune tellers and jie qian shi fu. Sharing some pictures taken in Wong Tai Sin. If you are wondering, where is dayipo in the picts? well she did not to go in coz she's not a believer.. darling went in and .. hee... poooooooo in there! We had to change darling at one of the pretty pavilions =P
